On Friday July 31^st, myself and a friend, will be setting off on a 2000 mile (approximate) bike ride from Manchester to Krakow, Southern Poland. This will involve cycling through parts of France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Hungry, Slovakia and Poland. We will be riding unsupported and will be carrying all our clothing and camping equipment on the bikes over the Alps and Tatra mountains.

We have decided to try and raise some money for a good cause and the charity we have selected is RoadPeace.  

RoadPeace is the national charity dedicated to supporting people bereaved and injured as the result of a road crash. They provide practical and emotional support to victims through a helpline, befriender network, and information guides on the legal procedures that follow a crash. In addition, RoadPeace researches and documents the position and experiences of road crash victims, for the findings to inform, educate and influence relevant agencies, policy makers, the public and media, in order to improve the present deeply unsatisfactory legal response and treatment of victims. RoadPeace won the Guardian Charity Award winners in 2008.

In December 2001, my younger sister was tragically killed in a car crash and I have witnessed first hand the help and support RoadPeace provide.  Therefore, if you can spare even a small amount of money, I would appreciate it if you could help them help others.
