Marc's 2014 Triathlon challenge page for Lily's Legends

Virgin Active London Triathlon 2014 · 2 August 2014 to 3 August 2014 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having completed my first Triathlon in 2013, I've decided to complete at least three in 2014. This is to raise money for The Neuroblastoma Childrens Cancer Alliance UK after receiving the devastating news that a little girl called Lily Vidler, who was 2 in Dec 2013 has cancer. Lily lives just up the road from us and is the cousin of one of my daughters closest friends in school. So far I have signed up for the Virgin London Triathlon, Hever Castle Triathlon and the Bananman Triathlon, I hope to add at least another two to the list.
About Lily:
Lily was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she was 20months old in August 2013. It is a rare, aggressive type of cancer, affecting only 100 children a year in the UK and early detection is paramount to successful treatment. Symptoms are similar to many common childhood illnesses which means it is often misdiagnosed. It was the persistence of Lily's parents with the doctors that has literally saved Lily's life; it has hopefully been caught early enough to treat successfully. By completing this challenge I am hoping to raise awareness of this awful disease. If we can enable just one parent to catch it early & save their child's life, then something good can come out of everything little Lily, her parents, siblings, grandparents & the rest of her family have endured.
