I’m walking13.3 miles from 1 Angel Square to Rochdale Pioneers Museum to tackle lonelinesswith the Co-op and the British Red Cross.

Loneliness isindiscriminate - it affects people of all ages and backgrounds and can be foundin all types of communities. It can lead to a sense of despair, and emotionaland mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. In fact, it’sreported to be twice as bad for our health as obesity.

Each year, theBritish Red Cross supports over one million people in the UK. The charity ispresent in all UK communities, providing unquestioning care and support topeople of all ages and backgrounds.

Together theCo-operative and British Red Cross will deliver radical and lasting change tosupport those experiencing loneliness across the UK. Together, we will providevital support to the lonely and isolated, reconnecting them to theircommunities and providing life changing care in their homes.
