Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Since losing my Mum in 1996 after a long illness that first appeared as breast cancer, I have been increasingly aware of the importance to recognize the fortune of being healthy and able-bodied, and to savour the place that we as a family enjoyed so much - Southwold beach.
As an artist I have had a lifelong relationship with the sea and on New Year's Day 2012 I embarked on a visual project that would record every swim for a whole year, the images of which will form an exhibition of photographs illustrating all the diverse colours, textures and conditions throughout the year.
I have been swimming in the sea through the winter for the last 3 years for a challenge, so it seemed natural to link this particular project to an inspiring and dedicated charity like Breakthrough Breast Cancer, and to raise some money for their incredible work. So with this in mind I would like to invite you to sponsor a swim/image, and if you would like to specify a certain date for a swim in connection with a person or occasion, I can dedicate that day to your requirements on my Tumblr page (subject to me being able to get to, or in the sea!). Just send me a message with all the details with your donation. And remember that this is an on-going project that will grow as the year goes by. All sponsored swims will be displayed with the relevent dedication, if required.
