I've just found out that i've got a last minute call up to the Visa Europe 2013 bike ride from St Malo to Lille - 360 miles over 4 days starting on Thursday!

Having put my name down a few months ago i didn't get a place in the orginal ballot so to be honest, I probably haven't done quite as much training as recommended but it just adds to the mental and physical challenge that lays ahead.

My 4 day challenge (and subsequent recovery time!) pales in comparison to the challenge faced by those who rely on the support they receive from Unicef, for whom i'm riding, so your sponsorship will be gratefully received.
