Hey.
Marcus Myers, Bob Powell & Jim Adams are taking part in a 25 mile bike ride through the Birkenhead Tunnel to Wirral Rugby Club, and back again on 3rd July 2011.
We are doing this in support of TheMaisyRoseProject.co.uk, a charity set up by my neighbours in memory of their beautiful daughter, Maisy Rose, whose tragic story is told below.
If you can possibly support this worthwhile charity by sponsoring us, not only would we be extremely grateful, we can also double your donation through our employer's £ for £ scheme, which is really rather fab. (Don't Forget to Gift Aid it!!)
Maisy's Story:
On Fathers Day 2009, Maisy Rose Bolus, a 14 month old little girl, was diagnosed with a large extremely rare brain tumour. This was following 4 months of unsuccessful visits to her GP with persistent morning vomiting and cough.
After 3 Major operations and 2 cycles of Chemotherapy, it was clear that this cancer was extremely aggressive and that her treatment hadn't worked.
Mum, Dad & her Uncle Trev trawled the world relentlessly looking for treatments that could save Maisy's life. Further surgery was planned to buy time for Proton Therapy in France or the USA, but following her pre-op MRI, the scan showed major tumour activity and metasteses through her whole Central Nervous System. She was now inoperable.
Maisy was taken home to spend her last days with her Mummy, Daddy & Big Sister Molly at home in the love and comfort of her own surroundings.
Sadly, at 4am on the 5th October 2009, Maisy moved on and left her disease behind to play in the stars with her Grandpa.
Her short life will be remembered through The Maisy Rose Project as we carry on her fight through research to help find cures for what are now the biggest killers of all cancers.
The Maisy Rose Project is raising funds to plough into the research of rare Brain Tumours so that Maisy can help children & families in the same situation.
Maisy's family, Kev, Claire & Molly would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and continuing support during Maisy's fight.
Thank you. So Much.
