We did it - lovely day, lovely people, all 17 lovely Parish Churches in 45 lovely miles.
The Three Scary Bikers from St Mary's Bowdon, pictured here, are planning to take part in the Historic Cheshire Churches Preservation Trust's annual Ride and Stride Day on Saturday September 12. We're old hands and old legs, a little over 21 and have, on behalf of the Trust, and our own Church, previously lightened the pockets of many generous sponsors by biking round all the Churches in the Bowdon Deanery, about 45 nice flat miles.
This year we're setting ourselves a tougher task- Knutsford Deanery, where the miles are more numerous and not so flat.Can we do it? We'll jolly well try and the more you sponsor us, the harder we'll try.Please think of all those lovely churches, in occasional and regular use, appreciated by attenders and non- attenders alike, which cost disconcertingly large amounts of money to keep in the landscape and reach for the appropriate keys on your computer.
"Just Giving" is the computer- age method of giving- easy, efficient and, if you are a taxpayer, redirects a percentage of your tax from the Government to the cause.
