Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Dementia is a devastating illness. It has got my mum in its grip and it is heart breaking to see what it is doing to her. Equally, it is heartbreaking to have to watch my dad, in his retirement, having to deal day in day out with the terrible things that dementia is throwing at mum. Researchers have developed a vaccine which they say could prevent and perhaps reverse the effects early dementia. Trials start on humans in a few years time. I'm no dr but I have read an article that this vaccine, if it works, does not prevent all types and may not reverse advanced dementia. More work needs to be done. Oh what I'd give to see my mum be released from the grip of this terrible disease. So, I've signed up to do this ride on 10 September. Least I can do. I have committed to raise $500 which is not a lot but every penny helps. Would be most grateful for your help. This also means I have to start training and long rides. Who's in for the rides? 😋
