Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be taking part in the Wimbledon Village Stables sponsored ride this Sunday 26th October in the well established tradition of suitably embarassing fancy dress for both myself and my horse ;-)

Participaing this year is very special to me as I am raising funds in memory of my niece Ismena (Issy) who passed away last month. She had been living wih breast cancer and latterly with secondary breast cancer for a total of 10 years.

She was a key spokeswoman for breast cancer care, often featuring in their advertising campaigns. Only last thursday (October 16th), their body image after breast cancer campaign in which she starred won the Dove Self Esteem award http://bcc.cx/1vnfMFk

During her illness Issy got to know many of the staff at the Royal Marsden where she received excellent care and great kindness throughout her numerous treatment programmes.

If you are able to sponsor me to help raise funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity that would be fantastic.

Any funds that  you are able to donate will be matched by my employer's charitable giving program effectively doubling the amount that is raised which will be great for the Royal Marsden.

The sponsored ride is a 10 mile course around Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park, many equestrians take part in it and to date over £500,000 has been raised for local charities.
