hello, well I am so pleased to have completed the challenge and I'm off the crutches with my tendons well on the way to recovery. I may even be ready for dancing in time for my Birthday next week. I think my page expires at the end of November so if you want to make a donation to the "Child accident prevention trust it'll need to be this week.

Updated on Sep 6th 2012 at 8:08 PM from the JustGiving API

the countdown is on......

I have spent the last fifteen years studying how and why children are injured in vehicle accidents. I have been fortunate enough to work with some passionate people, working together to contribute to European Regulations and ISO standards related to the design of child restraint systems.

Experience has taught me that even a top performing car seat is only going to protect a child as well as it can, if it is used by a child of the right size and development; if it is attached correctly to the car AND if the child is restrained correctly in the seat.

My reasons for completing this walk are threefold:

  • to raise money for CAPT
  • to raise awareness of child car safety; and
  • to realise a personal challenge to mark a significant birthday!

So What's the challenge?

I plan to walk 100 km in 24 hours!!

By raising money for the Child Accident Prevention Trust we can help them to get the message about the importance of using child restraints correctly.
