Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Gaby Alderson is a friend of my 3 children, She is a lovely, kind and bright girl. In September 2013 Gaby was diagnosed with stage 4 MYCN-amplified neuroblastoma. This is an aggressive and rare childhood cancer. Tests also revealed secondary cancers in her bones.

Gaby is currently undergoing a six week intensive chemotherapy course which started on boxing day. Results of a biopsy are expected and if the cancer has gone from her bones, Gaby can re-start the clinical trial she was previously undertaking. If the it hasn't then the only options are to go abroad for treatment.

I am hoping that your kindness will help Gaby in her brave battle against this disease.

On 25th May I will be doing the Edinburgh Marathon for Gaby - this is a huge challenge for me as it is double the furthest distance that I have ever run. Any donations you make are sure to spur me on during the run.

I have started training for the marathon which has not been easy given the recent weather conditions! However, believing that completing the marathon could raise vital funds for Gaby has motivated me and I have dragged myself out in the wind, rain and dark to run.

Thank you so much for reading and thank you for any donations you are able to make. Marie  xxx
