Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for the Little Havens Childrens Hospice.
The Little Havens Childrens Hospice in Rayleigh, Essex, was an absolute Godsend to Julie and Brian when Lili was taken from them so suddenly after a short 9 hour battle with meningitis.
Little Havens offered to look after Lili while Julie and Brian focused on Lili's twin brother Lukas, as he was in hospital fighting the same illness.
When Lukas was discharged from hospital after a week, the Hospice also offered Julie, Brian and Lukas a "home from home", where they could find some solace after this sudden and tragic loss.
The staff at the Hospice were absolutely wonderful, offering us all support, a shoulder, a place to stay, meals for the entire family and many a cup of tea to help us all get through each day. Most importantly the Hospice allowed us all a beautiful and peaceful place to say goodbye to our beautiful little Lili.
Lukas was spoiled rotten during his stay, with hundreds of toys, games, a huge ball pit, tin aeroplane and toy horses for him to play with. I'm sure the gentle 6am wake up call of "More Horse!" will continue for days and weeks to come....
I believe that only 5% of the Hospices funding is from the Government, and they depend solely on donations to make up the remaining 95%. So any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and go towards keeping this wonderful haven going.
