Barclays Wheels for Change 2016 · 9 September 2016 ·

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

I am taking part in Barclays Wheels for Change, a 100km ride on Friday 9th September. As you may be aware, I am rather partial to all things cycling, so decided to get involved.

However, I didn't think it was fair to ask you to part with your cash simply for me to ride 100km, so I have made the (quite probably ill-advised decision) to do the whole 100km on a Boris bike.

Having never ridden a Boris bike before, I quite honestly have no idea whether I can get one of the lumbering things round 100km (not to mention up some steep hills on the route).

SO - please dig deep and make this hairbrained idea worth it!

The Prince's Trust help disadvantaged young people get into jobs, education and training. I had the opportunity last year to get involved with one of their Team programmes in Waterloo and was able to see the incredible impact that the 12 weeks has on the young people who take part.
