When I first read about Sarah's murder I hadn't been living in Jersey long. But I had already grown to appreciate the beauty of living in a small community. It's much the same in Guernsey of course, and the way people have come together to do something positive, following her death, is truly remarkable.
Following Sarah's murder a foundation was set up in her name. It focuses on Sarah's inspirations and aspirations, which stemmed from art, children, adventure, and fitness. This fund will continue Sarah's legacy, which is all about helping others - largely to pursue their dreams. You can read more about the foundation here: www.sarahgrovesfoundation.org.
Of course, like many others I appreciated what Sarah's many friends, family and the wider community were trying to do, and before I knew it was investing in a 'proper' bike and padded cycling shorts (only one of which I'm convinced actually does the job it's supposed to!)
As an obvious amateur, the tour is clearly going to be hugely challenging. Without a doubt, it's the most physically demanding challenge I've ever set myself up to do!
I hope you'll get behind the cause and support my efforts.
From myself, and on behalf of the rest of the team of riders - thank you.
