Story
As lots of you know, I'm getting married in 2013; however, you may not be aware that in 2002 meningitis nearly claimed the life of my husband-to-be, John.
Consequently, I decided that I would like to do some fundraising for the Meningitis Trust and as part of this I have decided to run the Brighton Marathon.
I have been training since mid December and I have competed in some 10km and 7 mile races as I build up towards the big event in Brighton this April. I am due to run a few more 10km,10 mile and half marathons in preparation. Please don't let me run all these miles in the cold, rain and blizzards of South Devon and Dartmoor for no reason, let's raise some much needed funds for the Meningitis Trust.
The fight against meningitis has taken another step forward recently with the introduction of the Bexsero vaccine to protect against group B meningococcus, the most common cause of bacterial meningitis in the UK. However, there are many strains of meningitis with no known vaccine or treatment. There are also many individuals, predominantly babies and children, who despite every effort are left with lifelong disabilites including deafness, brain damage, epilepsy, memory loss, learning and behavioural difficulties and limb loss. THEY NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
On behalf of these brave individuals and to aid the continued research into this life-threatening condition, please give generously and donate now!

Remember, IT COULD BE YOU!
