There are currently a thousand families in the North East region coping with the most devastating news any parent can hear. Their much-loved child will not live to adulthood. For some, death will come in weeks, for others, it may take years. Whatever time left is precious and a children's hospice can help make the most of their remaining time.

The North East has the lowest number of children's hospice beds in the country, 4 available in Teesside and 8 in Newcastle. This number clearly does not meet the demand and as more children with life-limiting illnesses now survive beyond their first days, or months, demand for extended life care increases. Provision for hospice care is crucial and Grace House will have a catchment area covering the whole of the North East from the borders of Scotland to Teesside.

Grace House will offer palliative, respite and end-of-life care for children as well as offering long-term bereavement support to families.

They can't add days to the lives of these children.........but they can help put better quality of life into their days.
