Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I again completed the annual Christian Aid's Circle the City walk - 8km round churches in the City of London - Sunday 16/5. I skipped the bit South of the river this time but I reckon I made up the 0.6m saved by getting lost before I reached the registration point. I walked "alone" but I did meet up with people from a local church and it's easy to get chatting to fellow walkers especially when you're all puzzling over the route!

This year there was a point of reflection at each church making a link between the church and a different aspect of Christian Aid's work and inviting us to pray on route to the next point.

The weather forecast had not been good but the rain didn't get too heavy until the latter part of the walk and I didn't get drenched until I emerged from the tube station back home.

I also, 2 weeks earlier, went on the Gospel Oak Methodist Church walk across Hampstead Heath to Finchley Church End. It's only the 2nd year their Christian Aid walk hasn't clashed with the City walk and I was pleased I to be able to join my Methodist friends again. It had poured with rain from the previous evening and we all set off in waterproofs ... but the rain had eased by the time we stopped for our sandwiches though it remained very wet underfoot. But a wonderful tea awaited us at the end of our walk.

I've not had the chance to appeal for sponsors as actively as in previous years but 2 complete strangers each gave me £10 when I said I was doing these walks - one met at a Fairtrade event and one at the station when it was evident we'd both been to the Christian Resources Exhibition.

And, as last year, I am making this page available on the Christians Together in Camden website so that anyone not already sponsoring walkers or fundraising in other ways this Christian Aid Week can contribute this way.
