Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My Dad gave me his Honda VF500 motorcycle about 2 years ago, it'd not been on the road since 1996 and had also been sat in my shed for those last two years waiting for some time to get it sorted and take it out for a ride.

It was not long after my dad was diagnosed with cancer himself and after the care and treatment he went through, i suppose you're always looking for a way to repay the care and support he received from all the people involved with his care.

Then along comes the longest day down challenge, a challenge to ride a cheap (do you see where this is going now) motorcycle the 906 miles from John O'Groats to Lands End in 24 hours not using motorways, a double win for me as, i would be able raise money to help those who helped my dad and to do something i've always wanted to do, ride the tip to toe of Britain.

The bike has not been without it's aggravation though, near enough every component that holds liquid leaked, whether it be the petrol tank, the engine sump, water pump and even fork legs, i always tell my dad he mugged me with this bike, even though he passed on to me at no cost, so how apt to carry out the LDD challenge on such a steed.

I'm so thankful to have my dad around today due to the treatments he received whilst in hospital, he's my inspiration and this is the least i can do to repay what it has given me and my family.
