Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 8th July 2012, I will be taking part in the British 10K London Run to support the amazing work that Media Trust do to empower charities, communities and young people to have a voice and be heard.
Charities and Communities
Amongst lots of other fantastic work in the last year, Media Trust has enabled over 6,000 charities and communities to be supported by 1,335 media professionals, who volunteered across the UK.
One example of this fantastic work was with ‘My Life, My Choice’, self-advocacy organisation run by and for people with learning difficulties. The charity needed help creating a clearer marketing and communications strategy, focusing on key priorities; with the aim of raising its profile, reaching out to more volunteers and accessing their specialist skills. They had neither the funds nor the expertise with which to do this, so they approached Media Trust.
"Things are going great! Working with Olivia (mediaprofessional volunteer) is amazing. We are very proud of our new plan and will continue to work with Olivia. We can get our message out there now and its amazing what a difference that makes. Thank you, Media Trust!"
Mark Smyth: Director - My Life, My Choice
Youth Projects
Last year at Media Trust 794 young people and 59 youth organisations were supported by media professional volunteers as part of our youth mentoring scheme. We have lots of amazing success stories such as Media Trust young beneficiary Adika who told us that:
“Without the help, skills and encouragement Media Trust gave me, my past could have easily been my future… My future now lies in TV instead of the streets… Media Trust helped me find what I was looking for”
Adika, Young Beneficiary
Your donations would really be appreciated and through your help we can achieve more fantastic results like this and really help to continue this life changing work!
Thank you,
Mark
