For the past 20 years, our researchers and clinicians at our Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre (CBTRC) have been at the forefront of leading-edge research. They have worked tirelessly to improve diagnosis, treatment and awareness, saving the lives of thousands of children around the world, as well as here in Nottingham.
Together, we can create a brighter future for children with brain tumours – developing effective, targeted treatments that not only save lives, but give those receiving them the best chance to fully recover and live life to the full
I am a veterinary surgeon and an educator. I work in the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University. I started running as my canine personal trainer (Harley) was getting old and could no longer cope with the speed of cycling 10-15 miles per day, but still wanted to be active. We started running together and have progressed to longer distances which he loves since it is slower. His younger brother (unrelated!) is now a year old and manages twice the distance that either of us do. They are the most insistent personal trainers you can imagine and get me out training at 6am before work; whatever the weather
This is my first ever half marathon and first mass participation sports event since I left school. I am proud to be raising money for this important cause.
