Story
***UPDATE, June 2014***
As some of you may know, I foolishly signed up for this half marathon last year with a small tumour growing in my foot. About a week before the race, no amount of codeine could numb the pain of said tumour, and I had to drop out. I had raised £75 from some lovely folk, and I promised them that I would do the race next year to make their sponsorship worthwhile.
Alas, I forgot about it. Until, that is, about two weeks ago, when I got an email from Cancer Care confirming my entry for the race for 2014. So now not only have I got to cross 13.1 miles of Morecambe Bay - with it's quicksand, rivers, riptides and sewage - but I have to do it with naff all training!
Luckily the cause is a fantastic one. Cancer Care are a genuinely amazing bunch of folks, providing care and support for terminally ill cancer patients, their families and those who have lost a relative to cancer, all for free. I've seen first hand some of the work they do and it is nothing short of incredible. So if you can't even spare a quid for them you are pretty heartless. You should really have a word with yourself.
Cheers!
