I will be departing from Qingdao in China on Friday March 23 2018, sailing to Seattle, USA, most of 6,000 nautical miles away as part of the Clipper Round The World race.  Clipper gives (very) ordinary folk like me the opportunity to undertake an adventure that is rarely available.  It is a tough leg, with very cold temperatures and strong winds.  More information on clipper is available at ClipperRoundTheWorld.com.

Clipper supports the Unicef charity.    As part of that support, Clipper has given a boat at no cost to Unicef to encourage fundraising (the rest of the boats are sponsored at significant cost).   It is called the "Big Blue", and there are some pictures attached here.   As it happens, I am part of the crew on the Unicef boat.   The boat has a goal to raise £30,000 and I am trying to do my part;  it would be great if you were able to help!  (OK, so I'm trying to raise more than the average!  ;)  )
