Santa's Fun Run - Greenwich Park · 6 December 2009 ·

The Epilepsy Research Institute’s mission is to radically advance research for the #Onein100 people living with epilepsy. A life free from epilepsy is possible. But only through research We need energetic, adventurous and creative people like you to help us raise vital funds for epilepsy research!

Story

On the 6th of December I'll be participating in the 2009 Santa Run - a 5K charity run around Greenwich Park (sadly no exotic location for a bit of winter sun) with around a thousand other people dressed as Santa. Who knows maybe the real one will be in there too...

I'm raising money for Epilepsy Reasearch UK. Epilepsy is a common condition that affects approximately one in 200 people, and causes recurrent seizures. As it directly affects the brain what a person experiences during a seizure will vary widely and the effects can go beyond seizures, sometimes even being fatal. Epilepsy Research UK funds research to find out exactly what happens to the brain before and during a seizure with a view to finding effective ways of reducing the frequency and severity of epileptic seizures.

It's a really good charity and one that means a lot to me so I hope many of you will support it and either stuff some cash in my sweaty palm or better still use your plastic right here on Just Giving.
