My story

On the 24th of August 2006, two good friends and neighbours were graced with the birth of their daughter Lily. Quite soon after, family and Doctors could see that something was wrong. Lilly was eventually diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease, a rare genetic disorder, that could not be treated. Lily was given just days to live but graced this earth with 8 months of life.

Lilys Family formed the charity to help other families in similar situations.

The Lily Foundation was built on Lily's strength and inspired by her fighting spirit. Although The Lily Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, it is not for Lily. It is to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today.
