In 2009, my Sister in Law, Wendy and her husband, David had much needed support from Macmillan, when David was diagnosed to have a squamous cell carcinoma shortly after their Wedding Day. He started treatment in Sept 2009. He had 7 weeks of radiotherapy and 2 cycles of chemotharapy. This was followed up for 5 years and in early 2015 he was signed off from the hospital oncology department. We were all very relieved at this news.

But also during this time, in 2012, sadly I lost my Brother-in-Law Steve, he was only 42 and It was a devastating time for my wife’s family. Macmillan are an extremely worthy charity and were very supportive during Steve’s battle.  I am completing the Longest Day Golf Challenge on 1st July 2016 in Memory of Steve, who put up a brave fight, but sadly lost his battle with renal cancer.
