Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running in the Snowdonia Marathon on the 25th of October 2014 and raising money for the Alaw Cancer Unit in North Wales at the same time.
There can't be many people who havent been touched by cancer and being a local charity you can see directly what your contributions can do.
In May I was supposed to run the Liverpool marathon but I broke my collarbone 3 weeks before it.
In August I got the opportunity to run the Snowdonia Marathon for Awyr Las and although not completely up to speed it was to good an chance to turn down . (and I can sleep in my own bed)
The nursing, medical and support staff at the Centre are incredible, but extraordinary care needs extraordinary support.
To be honest I hadn't heard of Awyr Las until the efforts of the remarkable Irfon Williams , whose positivity and drive in the most trying of circumstances has inspired so many people.
The Alaw Cancer Unit relies on donations to fund basic but important extras which help brighten patients' days. Many people don't realise that things like: magazines; transport for patients; counselling for patients and relatives; bespoke wigs; specialist equipment and complementary therapies are funded by donations through Awyr Las, the NHS charity in North Wales.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
