I was out on my bike in late July (weekly mileage for the previous two weeks - 0) wondering what to do to use up my last week of holiday and I thought "I know - I'll cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats for charity".  So I will set off on 26th September and unless I run out of holiday time, energy, spare body parts (particularly knees) or luck with the weather I will get to the other end about nine days later.
