Mark O'Brien is raising money for Cancer Research UK
Story
In January 2015 with the help of friends and family I formed the Stourport Local Cancer Research Committee. A group which is committed to raising vital funds for Cancer Research UK.
Over the years I've lost family and friends to this terrible disease and I can no longer sit back and do nothing. We have to find a cure. I don't want to watch another family member or friend waste away before my eyes. I'm in this for the long haul.
Cancer Research UK has done lots of fantastic work already but it requires more money for research. It is hoped within the next 20 years 3 out of 4 people will survive Cancer. This can only be done through research!
I want to help improve upon those odds. I want it to read 4 out of 4 people survive Cancer. I want those years to come down to 15 even 10. Why not? Nothing is impossible!
What I do know is that to help achieve this goal Cancer Research UK will require continued funding. On Saturday 11th July 2015 I will be cycling a 40 mile round trip from Stourport On Severn to Worcester and back.
Can you help? Would you mind sponsoring me a minimum of £2 and join me in my fight to help find a cure for Cancer.
Just to give you an idea of what could be raised. If everyone on my Facebook friends list donated £2 this would amount to more than £1200 for Cancer Research!
