UPDATE!! I DID IT...5.22
Tale of two halves. Was on track for a very strong time until I slipped on a discarded water bottle on Tower Bridge ironically as I was being nosey watching the paramedics treat someone who had collapsed! I twisted my knee but managed to run and walk the last 12 miles with ice and sympathy from St Johns Ambulance and 6 good old fashioned Nurofen to numb the pain! Amazing support from the crowd and particularly my own barmy army of Carrol and kids.
Thanks to everyone who has or will be donating.
All the best
Mark
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. 10 long years after completing my first London Marathon I'm back for a 10 year anniversary (and final) effort. It's not going to be easy but I am determined to make it round and your donations will keep me motivated. My training is going well but surreal events so far have included a short race with an old woman who was carrying her shopping near Amersham and nearly being mugged at 7am one Saturday morning near Watford! Full details over a beer (or should I say healthy sports drink) sometime. I am running for Time and Talents who work with disabled and deserving kids and adults in London helping them do the right thing and make the right choices in life.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Cheers
Mark
