The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In short, I'm cycling 100km on 9th September 2016, to raise money for a great cause: The Prince's Trust.

The route starts and ends at the London Olympic Velodrome so I'll be channeling the energy of Wiggins and co, to get my old legs around 100km of darkest Essex, including over 750m of climbing.

The good people at Barclays will match all donations up to a total of £1000, and UK-taxpayer sponsors will be eligible to for 25% Gift Aid. So if you feel like making a charitable donation, your money will go much further. For example:

  • Pledge £20
  • Gift Aid £20 * 25% = £5
  • Barclays Matching = £20
  • Total = £45

So for your £20 pledged, the charity gets £45!

Wheels for Change is an annual fundraising cycling challenge, led by Barclays colleagues to raise money for charity. This year, Wheels for Change is raising money for the Prince’s Trust, one of Barclays’ UK charity partners. The Prince’s Trust specifically focuses on 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed, struggling at school or at risk of exclusion.

The benefits are clear, as over 77% of the young people who have attended a Prince’s Trust course or programme go into jobs, education or training. Our work relies on the generosity of our donors and our fantastic outcomes are a testament to the difference that your donation can make.

Here's just a few of the things your money could help us achieve:

  • £12 could help us give advice and support to four young people calling our helpline
  • £30 could provide two hours of one to one mentoring for one of our young people
  • £50 could provide childcare for a day to allow someone to attend one of our programmes

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
