Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
December last year was a month of extremes. I became a father for the first time to a beautiful baby girl, but I also lost my dad to Pneumonia and deteriorating health due to Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia.
My Dad was my idol, my hero and was always there for us growing up, whether it was taking me to play American Football, dropping Laura off at the stables, or even if we were to pop in and visit him at work. We were always recognised around the office and i'll always remember him wearing his Disney Christmas Jumper to work and dishing out cake on his birthday.
I owe everything to my dad and I to see him slowly deteriorate before going into hospital and pass the week before he became a grandad was devastating.
I'm challenging myself to complete the National Three Peaks Challenge, in which I will attempt to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours and raise money for Parkinson's UK, who offered their support for my dad and mum during his illness.
I'm not asking you to do it with me, I'm just asking if any one you would be so kind as to donate a couple of quid and sponsor me.
It doesn't have to be a lot, but my target is £1000 which would fund 5 days of research into finding a cure or countless other things.
One person in every 500 has Parkinson's, that's about 127,000 people living in the UK.
There's currently no cure but drugs and treatments are available to help manage many of the symptoms.
