Story
Thanks for visiting my Just Giving page.
I'm walking about 2,800 ft up Snowdon to raise funds for The British Heart Foundation, in memory of my lovely Father In Law, Ian.
Ian developed severe heart problems this Christmas and died early in the new year. Ian had high cholesterol levels, one of the causes of heart disease and something that the BHF run research and education programs in.
Why am I raising money?
Ian was screened and diagnosed with high cholesterol relatively late on in life but to his credit he worked really hard to reduce the effects of high cholesterol. He honed his eagle eye for healthy food and had a diligent approach to medication. And although his (medal winning!) fencing days were a while back, he was still active and out and about.
But unfortunately he was screened and diagnosed maybe too late on, which is why I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and the work they do.
Whilst in hospital Ian praised the work of the BHF, something I didn't know until after I thought about raising money in his memory, so I'm doubly determined to raise money for them and to honour his passing.
Thanks for donating, I really appreciate it
Mark
