SpecialEffect enable fun, inclusion, independence and a better quality of life for physically disabled people across the world through the inspirational use of adaptive technology.

Story

Hello I am taking part in a 703km Alpine cycling challenge from Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean (the hilly bit of the Tour de France - 16,300m of ascent!) to raise funds for SpecialEffect. Most of you know I have been training hard all year, despite difficulties with my knackered knee so I'm really hoping it will hold up for the duration of the challenge!  Any donations you make will be given to support SpecialEffect's fantastic work helping young people with disabilities to use leisure technology in the following ways:

•By adapting, developing and modifying cutting edge technology – for example eye-controlled technology, a special strength of SpecialEffect.

•By supporting hospitals, hospices, special schools, etc. in finding the right leisure technology for those young people who need it most, when they need it most.

•By loaning specialised leisure technology to young people who have a sudden serious injury or illness.
