Tough Guy 2010 · 31 January 2010 ·

We're a charity that looks after special places throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland for ever, for everyone. This includes 780 miles of coastline, over 248,000 hectares of land and over 500 historic houses, castles, ancient monuments gardens and parks and nature reserves.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to look at my Just giving page and please sponsor me.

At the end of January I will, rather foolishly some people think, be taking part in the Tough Guy challenge, an annual event that, well basically sounds horrendous.

An 8 mile run through muddy, hilly terrain is topped off with an assault course at the end. This assault course comprises of sub zero water obstacles, leaping of blazing bales of hay, electric cattle prods, falls from height, rope swings (and burns), murky, underwater tunnels, barbed wire crawls..................the list goes on. If I raise enough money I'll even do the course dressed in something suitably ridiculous!!

The reason that I am participating in this (literally) ripping yarn is to raise funds for a plant labelling machine for Emmetts Garden, of which I am Head Gardener. This will allow the lovely people who come to visit, the ability to understand what the hell it is that they are looking at and to improve the experience of all who come in contact with us. It will make a big difference to the enjoyment of our visitors and garden users.

I'm sure there are easier ways of raising money, but they wouldn't be anywhere near as much fun.

Please dig deep, all the hard work is being done for you.

Many Thanks
