Story
Who am I doing it for?
Well Macmillan obviously - but it's more than that.
I'm doing it for my mum and dad and the help they received - both died from cancer - my dad from a smoking-related cancer and then my mum 5 years later from lung cancer, caused by passive smoking, never having smoked in her life.
I'm doing it for others, who need help when they find themselves alone and diagnosed with cancer.
And yes, I'm doing it for me too - challenging myself, a BOGOF (Big Old Git Over Fifty) when perhaps I really should know better.
Support me and you'll be supporting one of the Commercial & Marketing team, but more importantly you'll be supporting a great cause.
So what are we doing? Well, we're attempting to walk the 24.5mile Yorkshire 3 Peaks within 12 hours:
Pen-y-Ghent 694m– 6 miles
Whenside 736m– 17 miles
Ingleborough 723m– 24.5 miles
It’s against theclock and if I don't pass the checkpoints by the set time, I won’t be allowed to continue. So when my legsare weary and my resolve is wavering, knowing that step-after-step, mile-after-mile, I'm doing it forMacmillan and for you as a sponsor can make all the difference to my motivation.
How can you help?
I have to raise a minimum of £100 with your help - I'd like to raise as much money as I can for Macmillan Cancer Support. Everyone who takes part also pays to take part. Every penny counts, soplease give whatever you can.
Even giving just a couple of pounds makes a big difference.
