We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Update: run succesfully completed on Sunday in 4hrs 21mins 11 seconds -  Many thanks to all who have donated already, please keep giving!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was lucky enough to be allocated a ballot place for the London Marathon 2011 on 17th April.

I've decided to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer Scotland, the Tesco Charity Of The Year 2011. We aim to raise at least £5 million pounds for the charity this year.

This is particularly appropriate as my wife is a Community Mental Health Nurse working with the elderly.

She sees every day what a huge problem dementia is for people affected and their families. Her own mother is also suffering from dementia.

As I have a ballot place and have paid the entry fee myself, all the money you give will be available to the charity for their work.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
