Myself and some cycling mates decided that we needed to ‘up the anti’ on our cross Cheshire cycle rides and spread our wings to further reaches! Yes - sounded like a good idea at the time - John O’Groats to Lands End - wonderful - get to see GB from top to bottom - lovely!Now I’m in training and the start date is looming, I’m feeling a little less ‘lovely’ about it and a lot more... well it’s not printable what I’m feeling now! However, I’m in and I’m certainly not backing out now! Second hand bikes don’t have the same resale value as diggers!
So, with Ride Across Britain, we start on Saturday 12th June 2010 bright and early at John O’Groats and over the following 9 days we average 115 miles a day to reach Lands End on Sunday 20th June 2010.
The challenge is set, and I sincerely hope that it will result in both paying good dividends from a ‘personal challenge achieved’ perspective, but also more importantly, in delivering some well needed charitable funds for a deserving charity, Children with Leukaemia. A charity who are dedicated to fighting Britain’s biggest childhood cancer and need all the support that they can get.
