Story
Did you know that one in four adults experience mental illness at some point during their lifetime? One in ten will be affected during their childhood.
Think about that.
Of those you love and care about, how many people will be affected?
Mind is the leading mental health charity in England and Wales. Their mission is to provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
To help support Mind on the 8th July 2012 I am participating in the British 10K race with 23 other runners from Turner & Townsend
The race takes place in Central London just two weeks prior to the start of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The race commences from Wellington Arch at Hyde Park Corner, and finishes on Whitehall. Previous races have seen 6,500 competitors participating, with times ranging from 29 minutes to just over 2 hours. I am hoping to complete within 50 minutes placing me within the top 15% of the field.
Thank you very much for any donations that you can give. Your donations go towards the funding of the 160 Mind centres across the UK which provide support and advice for suffers and those around them. Mind campaigns for change in legislation, health services, legal rights and employment, and provide professional training to promote good mental health, awareness and support.
