Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Heroes' Run is a 5k charity run done wearing superhero costumes. I'm raising money for the charity I work for, Brightside, which runs ementoring projects and other online goodness for young people. You can find out more about us over on the right (or you can take it as read that I wouldn't keep showing up every morning if it wasn't a good cause, if you prefer).

Having auctioned off the right to choose my costume, negotiated long and fruitlessly with the top donator, and turned to the suggestions (well, suggestion) made by other people who donated in time, I ran as Captain Hammer. This costume rated high on the 'practicality for running' scale, but also on the 'frequency with which people will ask who I'm dressed as' scale, creating a nice balance for overall comfort. It also involved a pair of gloves which were not in any sense breathable, so by the time I crossed the finish line my fingers were wrinkly from bathing in their own sweat. Nice.

Although the race is now over, you can still give us your delicious money.

Thanks for donating if you have done, and for reading this far if you haven't.
