Story

Have now completed this challenge and am very grateful to all that have donated to the cause. If I can get to the hospital when I am in Dar Es Salam I shall try and put a few pictures on here.

In January I will be donning my hiking boots and very warm clothes and taking on the challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro to raise money for the INCTR Challenge Fund.

The summit of Kilimanjaro is 5,895m (19,340 ft) and I'll have to contend with very high altitude and many hours of trekking each day whilst camping out in what could be very cold conditions.

So why the Challenge Fund? Well, back in 2006 a very good friend, Chris Niblett, lost his battle with Burkitt Lymphoma. He was very positive throughout his illness and was keen to help children in Africa who were suffering from the same condition but who did not have the same treatment available to them as he did.

Many friends, family and countless others have continued to raise money for the charity over the last 5 years and the money raised has helped save over 350 children in Tanzania so far and hopefully many more in the future.

The Ocean Road Institute in Dar Es Salam is the main benefactor of the funds raised and I plan to visit after my climb and see for myself the great work that is being done and the people the money is helping.

If you want more information about the charity take a look at the website. http://www.challengefund.org/

Any donation you can make to my cause would be very much appreciated!
