Story

UPDATE - I've landed. An amazing experience with wonderful views up above the clouds. Best bit was the first 8000 feet in freefall before the parachute opened. Only took 45 seconds - but breathtaking in the best possible way.

Thank you so much to everyone who has given on and offline - and to all those who have been so encouraging. If you'd still like to give to support the Open Church Project, I'll leave this page up for a short while.

Thanks again, Mark.

*****

Thanks for dropping in!

On Saturday 24th September I'm jumping out of a plane at a height of 13 000 feet or so.

I'll then accelerate to 120mph, falling a thousand feet approximately every five seconds.

As this is a Tandem jump I'll be strapped to an instructor - they get to open the chute at 5 000 feet. Apparently, after a few minutes I'll then land 'softly and gently' - which is good!

I'm doing this to raise money for our church's Open Church Project - a rebuilding of our centre to enable us better to serve the local community and share Jesus' love and hope with all. (And, yes, to be honest I'm also doing this as it will be fun!)

10% of all that's given here will go to our Partnership Projects in Rwanda and Honduras where we have real relationship with people on the ground who also want to make a big difference to their communities.

We have come a long way with our fundraising thanks to God's and people's generosity - whatever you are able to give will be a big help as we continue.

Thank you.
