Torbay Half Marathon · 23 June 2013

We are a small national charity supporting families affected by RTS, a rare chromosome disorder, the main features of which are a learning disability and a high incidence of various physical and behavioural problems. We are entirely dependent on donations and all funds directly benefit families.

please take time to look at my page

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On January the 22nd 2011 my wife bex gave birth to a beautiful young man otherwise known as Seth.

He was born with a number of heart defects and was soon rushed up to Bristol Children's Hospital. He was examined and it was discovered that he had a number of small holes and valves that were not closed. They decided not to operate and that this would sort itself out.

A few weeks later I realized that there was something different with the way my son looked and decided to research on the internet. This is when i found out about RTS (Rubinstein Taybi Syndrome).

Bex and I asked our paediatrician if we could have a chromosome test done, and it was then when the results came back we were told he has RTS.

RTS is an extremely rare syndrome and entails some different features and some learning difficulties.

We recently attended a conference and weekend for RTS families enabling us to meet other parents and children with RTS.

This was a fantastic experience for Bex and I, and helped us learn more about our son's condition.

I am putting together a team to run the Torbay Half Marathon in June 2013 and I need people to donate as much money as they can to enable more conferences and support to the families with RTS children.

Kind Regards

So please dig deep and donate now.
