To my family and friends this is an opportunity for me to remember my dearest mum, Una Daley, who died on 19th November 2008.
She spent two very long years trying to fight Ulcerative Colitis but despite surgery and extensive medical intervention was unable to combat this disease.
It is a condition that is not talked about very much but can have devasting implications to the sufferer, family and friends.
My mum was not one to complain and I probably did not realise the true extent of her suffering. My mum was a very giving, thoughtful, caring person who often would put others needs before her own.
I, along with my family, cannot explain in words our deep sense of loss. Writing this has helped me to share some of my feelings with others who maybe in a similar plight.
Participating in this opportunity will help others in the future to maintain a long and heathy life.
