Story

PLEASE NOTE : WE HAVE RAISED THE TARGET TO PAY FOR A TREATMENT ROOM

When Marlene passed we received hundreds of letters of sympathy which all the family found very comforting. Many asked to make a donation in her memory.

As you know, she spent a life helping others. She has left a hole so large that we feel the need to build something in her memory.

One of her many charitable works was "Head Start". This was based at The Christie Hospital, one of the worlds leading cancer hospitals, based in Manchester. Mum was taught how to wrap scarves and wear wigs after hair loss through chemo. She used this skill to help others. How ironic that she needed to practice what she preached.

On Sunday September 5th , Arron, Marlene's grandson,  did a  15km swim marathon which took him approximately 4.5 hours at the MGS pool. He wassupported by Marlenes other grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

He was looking for sponsorship in the hope that £26,000 can be raised. This figure has been exceeded and a new target of £37,000 has been set. This will allow for a room in the new wing of the hospital to be built and carry her name.

We hope that her worldwide network will come together, in Marlene’s name, to build the hospital that helped her and maintained her dignity until the very end.

There are many ways of giving. Please click the Donate Now button below.

Please help us make a special room, in a very special hospital,  in  memory of one very, very special lady.
