Dear visitor,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising site. I would greatly appreciate it if you could support me in raising a total of £10,000.00 for two great charities.
For this I have recently completed IRONMAN UK 2010 in Bolton, Lancashire, UK. This triathlon consistsed of:
2.4 mile swim followed by 112 miles cycling followed by 26.2 mile run
50% of all donations will go to: The Vivian Slot Scholarship Fund:
Back in 2004 my 3 year old niece Vivian Kristina Aimee Slot tragically lost her life in Thailand near Chicken Island in the Tsunami disaster. During time of natural disaster the family there experienced the most incredible, generous and unselfish support from the medical staff in Thailand. In the time between life and death, medical knowledge was crucial for the whole family! Because of this my family chose to support the study of medicine in Thailand through a new founded organisation: The Vivian Slot Scholarship fund. The fund enables young people to get full or partial scholarship to enable them to complete a medical study. 50% of all donations will go to: The Hilton in the Community Foundation: Focusing on children and young people, the Foundation supports activities in education and health to relieve suffering and equip individuals. At times of humanitarian disaster, the Foundation quickly responds to support relief efforts in affected areas. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Martijn Dresen PS. Special 'thank you': Coach Mr. Gyula Uhrin Mr. John Townsend (Hilton in the Community Foundation) and the Slot family (parents, brothers and sister of Vivian) for their continuous support. Ironman registration confirmed on 04/01/10. Reference 21672562. More information about the Ironman competition race results can be found on: http://www.ironmanuk.com
