Story

I am going to attempt a cross trainer marathon in under 2 hours to try to raise money for this extremely worthy cause. I attended the parachute regiments medal ceremony earlier this year after the lads returned from Afghanistan and one thing that stood out for me was the injured lads, they attended the medal ceremony despite having limbs missing, having prosthetic limbs fitted and confined to wheel chairs, I didn't hear one of them complain and they are as proud and professional now as ever.

In keeping with tradition and competition from my oldest son who is in the regiment himself I decided to push myself to the limit and try this crazy stunt so please give what you can.

I have managed 20 miles so far and am on course for the full marathon and the next couple of weeeks will see some really intense training so if you want to see me suffer please start donating.

Training update, 21.5 miles in 90 minutes, couldn't feel my feet after 20 minutes so if anybody can recommend a decent pair of trainers please let me know. Was a real tough 90 minutes but am determined to do the marathon distance and maybe even set a record in the process as well as raise as much money as possible.

Training continues and last night saw a mammoth 22.5 miles in 90 minutes, this was seriously hard work and I have increased the resistance a little, it is like running up hill for the entire duration, my feet were numb and my legs and hips were seriously suffering, no more long sessions now, a couple of shorter high intensity sessions before the big day on Tuesday, thanks to everybody that has donated and please pass the word.

My next endeavour will be in the new year which will push me even further but if you want to see this or hear more please donate.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.All done in 1 hour 48 minutes and 39 seconds.I'm shattered and looking forward to Christmas and my next event next year. Thanks soo much for all of the donations, please keep them comiong in.
