Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year is my 50th and I wanted to take on a series of challenges that would push me to the limits. I have opted for the ultimate challenges and I think I must be mad! They are the Para10 Endurance Challenge. This is the Parachute Regiment selection endurance run over 10 miles, whilst carrying 35lb on my back, run in army boots. The target time for the Para's and me is 1hr 50 mins and the 17K Royal Marine Commando Endurance Challenge... bring it on!

I do have some time to get used to the pain and get some miles in as the Royal Marine Commando's Challenge is on 16th June 2012 in Devon and if I recover in time the Para 10 on Sunday 9th September 2012 in Yorkshire.

I will be taking on these challenges in memory of my step mother, Pat who tragically died two years ago after battling cancer and for a friend and colleague Nick who sadly passed away one day short of his 50th Birthday. The sadness and pain of seeing both a friend and collegaue fade away before your eyes has given me even more determination to complete these challenges. I will be raising money for St.Richards Hospice, with your help!

St Richards Hospice provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life threatening illnesses. Each year the Hospice supports over 2,100 patients and family members. £5.4M is needed to raise this year to continue this vital work.

So please dig deep and donate now. I need your incentive to keep me going. Your donation can make a real difference to the lives of others.

I will leave you with a final thought " Run when you can, walk when you have to, crawl if you must, just never give up".

Thank you.
