Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi there,

I am a few month’s short of my 42nd birthday and you would have thought that I would have more sense than to attempt to run 74 miles over the Easter holidays.

Why? You might ask,

Three reasons mainly – Firstly the admiration and respect I have for my dad Frank Beaumont and how he has been an inspirational figure to all his family with how well he has coped with his latest medical condition of not being able to swallow, for everything he achieved as a professional footballer plus the guidance and role model he has provided for me in been being my Father and Grandfather to his grand children.

Secondly to say thank you on behalf of my Dad for the superb care he received from the Doctors and Nurses on Coronary Care/Ward 22 at Barnsley District General Hospital, when Dad was at his lowest point. Also we would like to thank all the staff at Barnsley Hospice for the care Dad’s brother Keith received in his final few weeks after losing his brave battle with cancer. The Hospice is a wonderful place full of caring people that help you cope and come to terms with the difficult situation you are faced with.

And lastly I love a challenge; to run from Barnsley FC to Bury FC to Stockport County FC to finish at Macclesfield Town (all Dad's proffessional clubs)on Easter Monday will certainly be a huge challenge, one which will be only possible with the help and support of my family and friends.

Thanks for listening

Martin

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
