JOB DONE - 4h 35mins 25Secs

A huge thank you to all that have sponsored us in our efforts. To complete this achievement is hugely rewarding in itself but to raise as much as this makes it even more so!

As you can see we're attempting to complete a marathon, Charlie suggested we do one this year as in his words "it's now or never". Having never even done a 5k fun run we may be stretching ourselves. We certainly won’t be breaking any speed records but we are aiming for around 4hours.

For me it was very good timing, my dad was ill with cancer and to have something else to focus on has proven very beneficial. Training has been therapeutic and helped ease the pain of watching someone else’s health deteriorate and the feelings of helplessness. For anyone who might not know, my father died after his battle with cancer in April.

The care workers at St Luke’s in Sheffield were fantastic, firstly with pain control then with care and assistance during the final weeks. Whilst cancer still exists places like this are essential and so I’d like to raise as much as possible for them. Charlie has very kindly said he is happy for his donations to go to the same place.

I realise times are tight but absolutely anything you can give will go to a very worthy cause.
