On or around 27-31 July this year (2016) I'll be swimming the English Channel with a group of 5 friends - Kate, Jane, Dawn, Jonathan and little bro' Clive, ably assisted by Laura and Jenny. It just so happens that it will be almost exactly my 60th birthday then, so this will be an unusual way to celebrate. Water temperature will be 15-17C and we'll have to contend with shipping, tides, and if we're unlucky *jellyfish*.
